Neurotech start-up ReVision Implant secures €4 million funding

• ReVision Implant (Belgium): €4M from existing and new investors (European business leaders, medtech operators) to move from preclinical to first-in-human studies.
• CEO Frederik Ceyssens: funding for cleanroom manufacturing (in-house), team growth, regulatory compliance and clinical programme.
• Prior public support: European Innovation Council grants incl. the €2.4M FlairVision project; backed by Plug & Play and imec.istart incubators.
• Device: cortical visual prosthesis that connects directly to the brain’s visual cortex, bypassing damage to the eye/optic nerve; for severe blindness including patients who cannot benefit from retinal or optic-nerve-based therapies.
• FDA Breakthrough Device designation received; preparing for first-in-human studies; first phase has received regulatory approval and is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.
• Company vision: high-bandwidth neurotechnology for quadriplegia, locked-in syndrome, amputations, aphasia and blindness.
