“The Global Digital Trade Expo not only brought orders — more importantly, it let us find the way to break through by fusing ‘technology + scenarios’,” said Shi Chunling, CEO of Hangzhou Qiuguo Plan Technology Co., Ltd.
Qiuguo Plan is a technology company working deep in the XR field, founded in 2021, whose products are applied in cultural tourism, shopping, education, industry and other scenarios. This year, Qiuguo Plan will attend the Global Digital Trade Expo for the third time.
From a 50-square-metre booth packed so tightly that visitors could not get through in 2023, to a 360-square-metre full-ecosystem booth this year; from technology-prototype demonstrations to global orders and partnerships — the three-year relationship between Qiuguo Plan and the Expo clearly traces this technology company’s growth.
Shi Chunling remembers the first exhibition in 2023 clearly: the “Guobao’er Box” smart robot, smart business cards and MR mixed-reality glasses prototypes they brought along drew many visitors, the aisles were full, and a Saudi businessman proposed bulk purchase on the spot. This convinced them that the company’s virtual-real fusion technology direction matched the needs of the times.
At the third Expo in 2024, Qiuguo Plan’s booth expanded to 240 square metres. The team “moved” the Binjiang Bailinhui supermarket into the exhibition hall — visitors could experience shopping in a virtual supermarket through the first-generation XR glasses. More surprising: the version 1.0 XR glasses were sought after by merchants from Saudi Arabia, Canada, Japan, Korea and elsewhere. Many brought translators and stood at the booth just to finalise cooperation details. “For the first time we felt that Chinese technology could stir up such big waves in the global market,” Shi Chunling recalled.
The confidence and opportunities brought by the Expo greatly accelerated Qiuguo Plan’s R&D. The team cracked silicon carbide full-colour light-waveguide technology, lifting the field of view from the industry’s typical 30° for AI glasses to 50°; a self-developed “Oasis” system freed the glasses from the phone, turning them into an independent intelligent terminal; and the integrated “Wigain” agent combined shopping, translation, social and other functions. In 2025, Qiuguo Plan’s Wigain Omnision (Developer Edition) — the world’s first mass-producible silicon carbide full-colour waveguide XR glasses — made its global debut at Expo 2025 Osaka, showing the world China’s technological breakthroughs in the AI + XR fusion field.
This year, Qiuguo Plan will show a 360-square-metre full-ecosystem booth at the Expo, comprehensively displaying results from its silicon carbide full-colour waveguide XR glasses in fields such as industry, cultural tourism and defence. Visitors wearing the glasses will be able to take part in an interactive game immersed in a real-scene West Lake, and to operate a robotic arm in a virtual factory.
“These are not gimmicks — they are real applications,” Shi Chunling revealed. Qiuguo Plan has already reached cooperation with governments and enterprises in several regions to apply XR technology in multiple fields.
Shi said the AI-guide panda shown at last year’s Expo will be upgraded this year into an intelligent tour guide able to take visitors on “cloud tours” of the exhibition; they look forward to harvesting more cooperation there.
From 2023 to 2025, every step of Qiuguo Plan’s development has resonated with the rising influence of the Expo. By the Qiantang River, in the surging wave of the digital economy, this company that grew up with the Expo is welcoming its own “harvest season”.
